  • should/do you add feeding

It always tells you not to add more than the recommended amount when applying any feeding to plants, so if you are using a compost with added feeding should you wait for a time before adding any feed or if you add a slow release fertiliser do you need to give additional feed when the fruits/flowers are produced.
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Personally, it depends on what i'm growing and what i'm growing it in. For example if its a pot with a tomato plant then i'd give them a feed when the first truss has set. Sometimes i give the odd feed before the first truss if the plant is looking a bit dull.

If its new compost I dont usually add fertiliser as most is rich with nutrients anyway, and will just add a feed when mentioned above. At the end of each year and begining of spring I will add blood fish & bone / manure or bonemeal to the used compost.

Thats just what I do, no doubt everyones different

Remember that it is possible to over feed plants, and too much of some things can inhibit absorption of other things. It is probably better to let the plants use the feed that is in the compost (which usually lasts about 6 weeks) before adding any more.
