Damping off - When do i remove lid?

I am growing various things from seed for the first time this year.

Several of the root trainers and modules I have come with clear plastic lids - some of the peas and lettuce have just started germinating - when should i remove the lids to avoid damping off?

Remove the lids once germinated.

You could prop the lids up on something, best of both worlds.

Can you take out the seedlings that have germinated? Lettuce and peas will be fine in an unheated greenhouse. What else have you got in there?

The peas are already in the greenhouse but i still have the lid on the root trainer.

The other one is an unheated windowsill module tray that comes with a lid - I have in it Little gem and Tom thumb lettuce and rocket (it is on the kitchen window sill)
