Could anyone recommend a courgette for growing up a wigwam, I thought of growing mini ones (have not attempted courgettes before).

Most courgettes are bush types and won't climb - though"Black Forest" and "shooting star" may fit the bill. Though both are f1's.

Ohhhh I didn't realise that. What does the f1 mean with regard to them, does that mean won't come true? Or something like that?

Black Forest F1, Shooting Star F1, and Tromboncino are all climbers.

Your going to need a big container for courgettes, at least 30ltrs one plant per pot.

Really? THAT big a pot? I only ask as I've got mine in pots but didn't plan to put them in anything near as big as that, if fact probably half that size. I've got Romanesco and Zuccinni going. Am I doomed?

I had mine in 10 litre pots last year - I had enough courgettes but nowhere near the gluts I was anticipating. I put it down to poor weather, but maybe it was pot size.

So I would say... you're not doomed, but they'll be smaller plants (probably, maybe ish)

How often were you watering Vix? That is really small for a courgette plant.

apparantly so... I thought that was quite a big pot last year though! I don't have room for many bigger pots. Roll on the house move so I have proper space!

How many plants did you grow Vix? I only ask as again I'm the only one that likes them (what's wrong with my family??).

10ltrs is far to small for courgettes in warm weather they would suck it dry in a matter of hours and this would stunt their production.

For one person 1 plant......... 2 at the most.
