You should be able to edit your profile as you are way past the minimum post count required, have another try & if not successful message a Mod' to get Admin to look into the issue

Can you please try again? If you can't edit now I'll get admin to look at it next week.

Those ones. Are they don't need to be in a greenhouse do they? Do you have to pollinate the female flowers with the male ones?
I grew these last year - they did very well outside and I didn't have to pollinate them myself, nature took care of that. I got plenty of courgettes off just one plant, grown in 2-ish of the marked out square feet in my raised bed. I'd recommend checking it every day once it gets going - I went away for a weekend and came back to about 15 courgettes on the go! It was one of my major successes in a not-too-brilliant growing year.

Last year I went away for a week and when I got back and went to the plot I wondered what the heck was lying on the path as I pulled up in the car. Went over to find they had morphed into Triffids and I had no so much Courgettes but Marrows and cut off a dozen of them.

People at work were all recipients of a Courgette/Marrow whether they wanted one or not as I had stupidly planted 6 of them, by the end of last year they were sick of Courgettes lol.

I would say the biggest pot you can get, I plant my courgettes out on the allotment,2 (yes only 2) into a raised bed 8 feet by 4 feet and they fill the bed completely. Even with 6 of us at eating them (compulsory) and giving away to the neighbours (until they hide and pretend they're not in)we still have too many.

In my experience, I've found that it is not the depth of soil that is the issue but the surface area. They are fairly shallow rooted but as Snake says, around 3-4 feet diameter should do one plant.

At last someone with the same experience as me.
Courgettes I have grown are all shallow rooted but spread and more roots grow from the stems as they travel.

Ordered my Courgette seeds last night. ~this shall be my first year growing them. They'll be in a pot which is about 20 litres but i might get myself a bigger one if it is advised?

Courgettes do grow in pots but drying out is an issue - the smaller the pot the faster they dry out. The plants have very big leaves which quickly lose water especially in windy weather. I have grown them in approx 20 litre pots but 30 litres is better if you can.
