  • Chillies already flowering when only small

Hi, novice chillie grower, only grown them 2 or 3 times before.
I have been growing Aji lemon and super chillie since late January, the pants are between 4 and 6 inches tall and already flowering . Is this ok? I didn't expect them to flower until they were a fair bit bigger.

It's best to pinch the first few flowers off. The plant won't be big enough to support the fruit and still needs to use all its energy on growth at the moment. What size pots are they in? They may need potting on?

Welcome to the vine Fangio! We all love our chillies here what else are you growing?

My chilli plants ( super chilli ) have now stopped flowering , plenty of fruit. Is this the end of the flowers for this plant ?

Fangio I've got a similar thing going on, plant too small to be flowering but on close inspection I noticed the stem had been given a nibble by a slug and scared the plant into flowering too soon.
