well i do wish this weather would sort itself out,i was so hoping to get these into their home ,but with the risk of frost over the weekend no they have got to stay in the greenhouse ,
i was thinking of trying just one and see how it goes ?
has anyone put theirs in the ground yet?
this is a new one for me this year

mine will be going in next week about 3inch tall now and I need the room in the green house checked in my growing diary and planted around same time last year

They need hardening off whenever you decide to plant them out. I'd give them at least a week of living in a cold frame, and then some days of just being outside.

thank you wendyc, yes they have been in the greenhouse for 2 weeks now ,like i said i was hoping to get them into the ground this weekend,but as we have had frost alerts lol ive held back as i would be gutted if i lost them now so it will be fingers crossed end of this week as i have got something to pop over the top should we get another frost alert ( grrrr )

They're hardy little plants. I sowed some Evesham special in September or it might have been October. They were all planted out over the winter,going straight from blow away to ground,the first three plants had plastic cloche protection because it was seriously cold. The others I planted out in February with no protection (I think it was 4 or 6 degrees?) & a bit of BFB round the lot of them. The first two are a lot bigger than the newly planted ones,so they've done well in the cold months with colder soil rather than being in a pot,the later planted ones just need to catch up,be careful with wind rock though in this weather,plant as deep as you can.
