Picked my 1st Strawberry of the year, couldn't take a pic as it dint make it to the door...........

And don't they taste, just, well SWEEEET!!!

These little beauties are going to be picked later (strictly speaking they aren't my first - young son chomped that a couple of weeks ago ~ but they WILL be MY first ....!!!!! )

3 Strawberries, slug got the 4th one

I picked this about an hour ago to go with our dinner tonight. This was the salad leaves that were grown in the Ikea shoe hanger thing.

I thought they looked (and tasted) great. Daughter asked if it really was salad leaves because they looked like dock leaves.

The 'child' will have porridge for tea tomorrow mark my words!

Rapa senza testa turnip greens - never grown before so exciting! Steamed for about 30 seconds, buttery with a hint of nice 'green' bitterness. Neighbour tried some, now has some of my seeds to try himself!

Own seed from previous years, and I now haven't a clue what they are!

They were wrinkled seed so hopefully were the right ones, but as the paper bag had all sorts of types, I'll hang fire on the rest of them!

Lettuce of the year. Bit late I know, but then I started everything late so hey-ho. Joy of joys, 6 year old has just started eating lettuce (been eating sorrel for years) & declared mums home grown lettuce gets almost as big a thumbs up as chocolate cake - wow!!
