Strawberries (2 Elsanta & 1 Honeoye) and summer cabbage (Hispi), which miraculously had an almost slug free heart.

Picked shiraz mangetouts, a big handful. Some had actually grown a bit too big, but as mentioned on the harvesting thread, it's been my first time at the plot for weeks, as I strained my knee and was resting it. I've never grown them before - pretty pods!

Turnip Oasis - 2 marble sized turnips to thin them out a bit (and try them).

Billed as a "turnip that tastes of melon". They do taste different and less turnip-like, and I can see why they describe them as "refreshing" as they have that sort of cooling taste. But melon? No. If I bought a melon that tasted like that I'd be sending it back. They are pleasant enough though.

Bowl of strawberries - a few sarian and the rest Honeoye - a bit tart but to be fair to them I don't think they've actually seen any sun!

                          • First 2 courgettes (romanseco). Would've been 4 but something with tiny teeth has had a good gnaw! (mousetrap on order...). Lightly fried in butter and served with stuffed chicken breast, last year's Gooseberry wine (chilled) for refreshment.
