  • Picked my first Wild Blackberries yesterday. Is this early.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

    • That seems early for blackberries, Bramble. Very lucky. I love them.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

      • First plums - yellow and purple, unknown varieties as inherited on my plot. First courgette. Plus I picked my first ripe tomato last week in my greenhouse. San Marzano.

        • First runner beans (2 Stardust) from the slug trashed plants at my friend's. Only one of the original 8 plants has survived the onslaught.

We got some yesterday too. They were between a correogated iron boundary wall and the countainer shed so I'm guessing all the heat from the metal forced them on early. Everywhere else is hard green nubs still.

I picked my first ever chard leaves yesterday - so I could throw them away as they were infested by leaf mining beasties

Yes, very late, but the voles seemed to have overlooked these plants
