What to start planting out?

Hi everyone just need a bit of advice as this is my first spring with an allotment... I have been growing seeds and now my carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, purple broccoli and beetroot plants are looking very much as though they need to be planted out, also my house is looking like an allotment too as every window sill is busy... Am I ok planting them all out if I do it under clouches? I know I need netting for my cauliflower and cabbage?

Sorry I am asking such basic questions but I am a novice and just want to get it right!!

All of those should be fine planted out now, especially with cloche protection. Carrots don't transplant that well really so you might find the roots come out a bit bent or forked when you harvest them.

I'd agree with the above advice, but would add you still need to harden them off. They will have grown quite soft so gradually get them used to the outside. So a week in the greenhouse, a week in the cold frame and even then a few days with no protection.

I would wait till Sunday before planting anything out, the nights are very cold this week. I grew mine in an unheated polythene greenhouse, so far they have survived the cold, and hope to plant them under protection on Sunday. Fingers crossed!
