Morning! Has anyone used the chilligrow or quadgrow systems? Am having a look at them and am quite tempted but thought I'd do a quick poll first!!

I love these planters and wish I had room for a quadgrow. I have 2 chiligrows, 3 salagrow planters and 2 quadgrow vegetable planters. I find the chiligrow pots are not quite big enough for full sized tomatoes but there are plenty of other uses for it, particularly peppers but also salads:



Left to right are pak choi, namenia and mizuna.

The saladgrows are great for spinach as well as salads:



I also adapted one of these last year creating a square quadgrow using 11 litre pots for tomatoes:



The root veg planter is currently housing potatoes:



Last year I grew cucumbers in it (in the frame at the end of the path):



It can be somewhat tricky to get the bits of capillary matting through the holes into the water tray, but once assembled they are great.

I love my quadgrows

I think the main benefit is the plants dont seem to get tired later in the season, they stay fresh and strong

My tomatoes went mad last year in them and thats down to the quadgrows not me

OK...I've ordered a chilligrow to start me off but I really like the look of the quadgrows to put in the mini greenhouse to give the tomatoes a boost - I have to admit to being pretty dreadful when it comes to remember to water them! I also really like the look of those salad ones!! Far better than the big trough I've got my lettuce in at the moment! My bank account is already starting to hurt just looking at all these things!!

I can't help buying another one every year... fab for toms and chillies. They also have a planter called a patio grow which combines 4 big pots with a lower salad planter and isn't much more than the quad grow. I grew epic basil and toms in this last year and have another one on the way for using outdoors in which I plant to grow dill, coriander and chervil in the salad planter bit. In the pots, I'll do beans and ridge cucumbers.

One note about using them outdoors- the reservoir with feed gets diluted when it rains heavily and the soil can get a tad moist for my liking in wet weather. But still had great courgettes outdoors in a quadgrow and hey- the company's name is a bit of a give away about where they are meant to be used...

Oh, and do use the little lids to where you top up the reservoirs or you'll be breeding mosquitoes instead of tomatoes...
