So having moved house two weeks ago, I now have my garden sorted and looking half decent 
Finished putting the greenhouse together and glazed it, used silicone to make sure the windows aren’t going anywhere.
How does everyone keep their greenhouse temps down when the weather gets hot?
Last Sunday, the temps were touching on 30degC outside and it peaked at 48 in the greenhouse for the 5mins I had to have the door closed so could put some silicone on the inside. That was highly unpleasant! Was at that point I soaked the floor and put some fleece on the roof which made a big difference.
But it still seemed too hot in there, and think the cucumbers suffered a bit, went very wilty as soon as I put them in there, they picked up again when the temps came down though. But now many of the leaves have a slightly crispy white edge. Deffo a bit scorched!
In the long containers are garlic, and the big wooden pallet is filled with onions, the 2 smaller pallets are going to have lettuce/rocket in. Nothing in the borders yet, but they don’t get a whole lot of sun so I’m thinking they might be good for broccoli and kale? Is there anything else that does well in shady spots? I’ve still parsnips and carrots to sow so if these would fair alright would be great!
Thinking I’m going to put the water butt where the BBQ is and hook up some guttering from the greenhouse.
