Cucurbit Volunteer ID

I have a volunteer that first appeared in another pot where some recycled compost had been mixed in with fresh. I then transplanted it to its' own pot.

It looks just like my other courgettes, so I will be growing it on to see what it is

I'm not sure whether you can tell at this stage whether it is definitely a courgette, or whether they are all so similar to start off, it could be any of the cucurbits?
Courgette, squash, melon, pumpkin, cucumber?

I'll try and post pictures as it grows, and welcome any guesses about what it might be, and later on, what variety it is.

Volunteers often grow from seeds that float in on the wind, are dropped by birds, or are inadvertently mixed into compost. thats the thing with squash,melons,,cue ext,they all start the same way,the only thing i have noticed are,the smaller plants like some cue and melons are a bit smaller with the seed leaves,also can you remember what plants you had grown in that compost last year,also another reason to sieve it first

It could be any of them.
In fact, given how easily they cross, it could be a combination of several!

But if you have the space it will be fun to find out.
I can't seem to grow melons at all but once grew a crown prince that I;m pretty sure was melon inside

Volunteer was transplanted and grown and has been producing bonus fruit for me

I've now guessed it's a Tondo di Nizza courgette (aka De Nice a Fruits Rond) as I'm growing this variety. It was probably an apparently non-germinating seed which turned out to be a very slow germinating seed that got transferred when the compost got recycled.
