  • Raised bed.. spacing question?

Can I get an outdoor cucumber in the frame and a courgette in front of it? Frame is about a metre wide....

    Opinions, please?

I would think so, make a cane structure for the Cucumber to climb. Not sure what you mean by frame but Cucs take up very little ground space.

My Cucumber frame is made from some Dexion Shelving Angles and the panels from a Dog Cage

        Sorry, wasn't clear.

It's an old cold frame with the top gone (I'll put some fleece across initially) . As north as I am, I'm thinking cucumbers might benefit from some extra care... I've got a Marketmore I'm hoping will live long enough to go out. ..

I'd have thought there was plenty of room, but do remove the small child first!

I would get a dozen canes, make a criss cross structure at the back for the Cucs to climb up, then put 2 Courgettes in front of them, one either side of the frame:

Here's one I prepared earlier - with 4 Butternut squash at the back to climb the canes and 4 courgettes in front, in a cold frame that's very similar to yours.
