    Hi to all i red some help again. My problem is i am about to move house
    and in the garden there is a small fig tree which has just started to grow small fruits
    my problem is the i need to put up a fence where it is growing . So if i dig it up carefully
    dig it up will i be able to re plant it in another spot in the garden and are there any tips or advice as i would really like to keep it but i really need the fence for security.

    Yes, figs will move OK. Dig the new planting hole before digging up the fig, and pour a couple of buckets of water into the hole just before moving the tree. Water the fig well the day before digging it up, to reduce the shock, and try to dig it up with as much soil in the root ball as possible, then straight across the garden and into the new hole. Fill it in well, and give it a good watering again.
    It will probably drop its fruit this year, and may lose some leaves but should be OK. Some advise restricting the roots by putting a slab at the bottom of the hole, or a layer of bricks. Depends whether you hope to get lots of fruit, or just want a nice tree that has fruit (but not so much).

      Yeah I've moved my fig once and it didn't seem too bothered. I actually had to move it because it was growing far too quickly, and no sign of any figs. I moved it into a sunnier spot, but dug a hole and sunk a bucket in to it and put the fig in that. Now I have a couple of buds on it that I hope are going to be figs!
