I sometimes put 2 Tumblers in, but that's usually because I am desperately trying to get somewhere to put them!!

Not if you put 2 upturned pop bottles with holes in them, they don't

I've done it with one and with two and to be honest you don't get much difference in yield with two plants as they are competing with each other. I only put one in these days.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Is Tumbling Tom the variety or just a description? I grew "100s & 1000s" last year - about 4 plants i think and produced loads of tiny, sweet tomatoes. I used one of the hanging baskets with a water reservoir in the base and it worked a treat!

Tumbling Tom are very similar to Tumbler though not as tasty in my opinion.

I grow Tumbler at one per big basket on a south facing wall, they are big vigorous plants and can dry out very quickly.

Susie I never use a water reservoir. Ive done tumbler baskets before but with our temps and short season I end up with green toms, I don't mind ..I make chutney or ripen in a bowl indoors.

9 plants! I'd remove most of those if I were you, they'll be very short on compost per plant.
