It's a bit dispiriting, growing something and then not eating it. Would you consider courgettes or maybe lettuce and radishes instead of the brassicas? Better still, sweetcorn, which is one of life's great pleasures when you grow your own.

Plus, you might find that you like the taste of home-grown veg more than shop veg: home-grown veg are always sweeter and more tender, so you might start to find a wider range of veg appealing. Mr Snoop can't abide cabbage unless it's home-grown, for example.

On any discussion on crop rotation, I immediately think about this from my younger years.

Instead of brassicas you could try other crops like courgettes/squash/sweetcorn - there must be some vegetables that you have never tried that you could experiment with?

If you don't like brassicas and legumes then don't grow them.

By the way, there's alot more to brassicas than kale and cabbage and more choice on the legumes than just peas and beans (theres root crops such as Lathyrus tuberosus or Apios Americanus)

Legumes mixed with alliums are supposed to be a gardening no-no - I think it has something to do with the antibacterial properties of the alliums interfering with the symbiotic bacteria on the legumes.

Don't think the OP is too concerned about crop rotation as he hasn't been back to the forum since his original posts in May 2016.
