Nope I don't have any room for a grenhouse (maybe one of the little lean too's though), I seem incapable of NOT over watering however hard I try and restrain myself and yes I decided a few weeks ago that shop bought plug plants are the way forward............
Anyhow, thanks all but I think that I am a hopeless cause. Thankful that there are shops that sell them.

I find it hard not to overwater tomatoes because I am aware that they are big plants and lose water quickly in warm weather. My solution is to put the pots on self watering trays whenever possible, then I can fill the tray with water and let the capillary matting suck up just what the plants need.
