      • The first sunny day yesterday for ages. So uplifting to see bits of blue sky as opposed to dark grey. This morning looks good too, misty but in a promising sort of way.

                    • Anyone who thinks this summer has been awful wants to have a look at this video about 1988. Its a bit technical in places but I think the overall picture is clear. Makes summer 2016 look positively tropical!

                      • the last good summer we had was 2006, and for the last3 yrs melons have died from the cold in the greenhouse so I think 1988 would be an improvement on what we get every year now, the sun has just come out, the first time in 9-10 days and I am wearing a thick fleece to keep warm, july? midsummer? I know what I would like to do with it and that includes the numpties who keep wittering on about global warming, probably from their Bahama weekend homes......... just been out to check the temp, weather forecast = 22deg, so they are only 6-7deg out on the guessology system, better than most days predictions.....

                        • We now have sun. It's even hot sun.

I feel positively dizzy with excitement, it's been so long since I felt heat.

                            • I've gone from trench foot (due to constantly wet feet) to heat exhaustion in the space of a few days. Hotter tomorrow so they say.

I an just so difficult to please!

Mind you, 18 holes in the baking heat was a bit tiring...
