Just outside filling watering cans - then suddenly as if from nowhere - it started hammering it down - then rumbles of thunder and HAIL......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical unstable thundery weather after a Spanish plume, Susie. Thunder clouds can build from nothing literally in minutes and throw all sorts of nasties at you as well as lightning and thunder - hail, lashing rain, huge gusts of wind, funnel clouds, waterspouts, dust devils, tornadoes...
