    Just stab a hole in the bottom Marb & see if water drips out. If it does then it's a sure sign that it's holding water.

      I did put a lot of holes in when I initially planted it up and water always came out the bottom and still does so I am starting to think it can't be that. Anyway, I just stuck my finger in the compost and it's just nicely damp with no waterlogging.

        Well I'm gutted as the thing has completley died for no reason. The stems have now bent because hollow inside.

          Looking at the first photo,do you think the leggy sideshoot you took off was the main stem of the plant,once that's gone the plant can't do much? No growth has occurred since that happened,do you still have that 'sideshoot' in a pot? Is it ok? I grow these quite a lot & they sometimes are an odd shape to begin with but the plant rounds out in august,never worry what it looks like in June/July.

            Yes, the side shoot is in a pot and produced about 2 toms but hardly grown much.
