They will be stored in my potting shed which is attached to the green house. Will it affect the plants in it ?

Pulled up my garlic yesterday. Not too bad, a few really large heads, some very small ones , the rest ok. Wish I could remember which one it is. I've put mine in the shed to dry out as the rain ain't stopping here

Shouldn't do, assuming the shed is dry.

Quite a lot of rust here, with Christo and Thermidrome.

I was going to ask chums here what they were doing, as the bulbs on The Patch are beginning to falter, and although they're not that big, they'll be useable - just!

Although they're small, they take little preparation, and can be zoinked though a garlic press with very little skin removal, so it ain't all bad I suppose!

And also, the kitchen smells great the next day too! The fresh stuff really cannot be beaten!

                Garlic looks poor

I put IOW in late - I bought 2 plants from the garden centre and replanted and used a bulb broken up (Mid May). They look underwhelmed slightly yellow and leaves not strong but thin and weak.

Is there anything I can do to improve this?

I've harvested mine, but they're looking very unhappy, the dangling leaves are rotting. Should I strip them and then hang up to dry....? Not sure what to do next. :-/

I dug up the elephant garlic the other day. The bulbs had started to split open but we're a decent size.

I'll have to use them up soon I guess. As long as then last till it's time to plant them out again.

There were 20 little corms on the outside of 6 plants so these have gone straight into pots before the hard she'll develops to see if that improves the germination rate.

The rest of the garlic was spring planted so still has a bit to go.

i grew 3 types and i dug them up about a week ago and put them in the shed to dry out ,i had some rust on them but not that much ,on one variety had a little bit of white fluff on the bulbs which i presume is a fuguss due to the amount of rain and moisture in the soil so i threw those on the compost but overall i think i have about 120 garlic bulbs in total ,cheers

Dug mine up today, not good this year at all, most had just rotted, due to the excessive rain, the elephant garlic is usable, but not as big as last year.

Might not bother with garlic next year, hardly worth it, or might just grow elephant garlic

Had to harvest mine a couple of weeks ago ... rust. They weren't really ready but at least I have a crop.

I just harvested mine today and they don't look really ready but are ok.

How well do they store when they're not quite ready?

My garlic is awful. The whole crop ruined by the rain - the ground was so wet and the poor bulbs were so wet and claggy.

Next year I'm going to try growing in pots as this is the 2nd time this has happened.
