I have six cauliflower plants (all year round) in my brassica bed, they were planted out in March and are now quite tall, but there is no sign of a head forming, if my memory serves me, I remember being told that you could tell whither a cauli would develope by checking for two small leaves in the center of the plant, which these plants don't have, there is just the one center leaf, should I pull them out, or let them go for a bit longer

When Ive grown cauli, they take a long time to heart up. I wouldn't expect any pickings before late September at the earliest (down south) so I would be surprised to see any curds forming in June. I would keep them going for quite a bit longer before pulling them up. -

Far too soon to expect any sign of curds on caulis. Calabrese is a much, much faster maturing brassica than cauliflower and my plants planted in April are nowhere near producing heads yet.A life is like a garden.
