    Explain this:
I have 4 raised beds and behind the two far ones, my runner bean frame ...

The runners have been 'slugged' but the two beds (so far..!!!!! ) closest haven't been affected ....

And the bed furthest away from runners, has been badly attacked .....

Are slugs indiscriminate in what they chomp, or do they 'prefer' certain plants..??!!??

It could be that it takes them 3 hours to slide to those beds but would take 10 hours for them to get to the other plants, once they've found what they like, they keep going back & hide nearby. One of my marigolds has been completely eaten-the one closest to my shed but the others 1 ft away etc barely touched. I've noticed more damage near to my borders like they're hiding under the sheds in the day. I'm going to give my shrubs a bit of a prune near the bases,so they can't hide so easily & space for the birds to get under there.

You bunch are a bad influence

Oh dear me !!! I've only joined yesterday and OH already things I've gone stark raving mad. He came home from work at 1am to find me in garden with a torch on my first slug patrol. I did enjoy it though as i'm sure the birds will enjoy their breakfast
