Update on quality of seed compost.

I recently mentioned the very poor quality of my Levingtons seed compost. I'd had to sieve every single scoop. Full of fibre, stones and lumps. Dreadful for £5 and 20ltr. I've still to contact Levingtons.
MOH, bought a 20 ltr bag in Wilko of their own make. much to my horror...but it's really lovely. Fine but substantial no rubbish in it. £2.

Yes I had to buy some Wilko seed compost as that there was nothing else left. Equally I was pleasantly surprised and have good germination using it.

I've bought both Westland and B&Q Verve John Innes seed sowing compost and found them both to be a nice mixture of loam and sand with little in the way of big bits of organic matter. Germination has been first rate in both of them (the only thing I had problems with were 2-year old chilli pepper seeds).

I'll have to try some of that as there's a Wilko two minutes from where I live.....very convenient and far too tempting
