You're doing brilliantly with your courgettes, VC Almost all of mine have died. Think there are two straggly ones left so still hopeful for something from them!

    Lovely squashes, MissC.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

Have about half dozen courgettes in fridge, several Tondo courgettes, cooked one last night size of a grapefruit, was very nice, so will soon be giving them to neighbours!

First small courgette (green bush) picked today, mainly because the plant has mildew and i don't trust it not to keel over and die. Plenty more flowers, but every single one is male at the moment.

It's still early season, so I'm picking them small.

4" max for Defender F1, All Green Bush, and Tosca F1, golf ball sized for Tondo di Nizza

Lebanese and Custard White will be a bit later. Have flowers and small fruits on those, but nothing picked yet.

Why do you pick the early ones small?

1 more courgette today makes a grand total of 3 (count them!)

Squashes going well but obviously nothing till autumn.

Cucs inside are climbing but not flowering yet. Outdoor cuc not doing much except sulking....

Courgettes: now 2 Athena and 4 Black Beauty (love BB - fantastic taste, especially straight off the plant).

Melons: none picked (no surprise there), but quite a few hand-pollinated.

Picked two more Marketmore cucumbers at lunchtime today.
                            Total so far, 4.

Not got any squashes yet, picked 5 or 6 courgettes and 3 cucumbers to date.

Can't for the life of me remember what type they are though

Picked 2 more Cucumbers and 3 TromBonjovi

                                2 + 2 = 4 cukes
                                3 + 2 = 5 Tromboncino
