Think its 3 courgettes & 2 cucs but could be more so approx 120 courgettes & 90 cucs. Is it greedy to be resenting the end of the season coming & want more!

Well today I've hit the 150 courgette mark as I harvested 2 trombones.

I also cleared out the winter squash plants and ended up with
1 Miranda squash
1 Kabochi squash
4 Jack Be Little
3 Small Sugar
3 Golden Hubbard
1 Uchiki Kuri

waiting in the wings still to be harvested are 4 Hundredweight and 4 Atlantic Giants each with one pumpkin on it - 3 have been promised to my sister to carve for Halloween., 1 is my main contender for the sites pumpkin competition.

The low harvest is because, apart from the giant pumpkin bed with 6 of these plants in, the beds haven't had any organic matter added this year or last year - don't know about years prior to that. The pumpkin bed had several barrow loads of fresh horse manure over the bottom two thirds with good topsoil in the top third - the horse muck has done the best with the pumpkins here about twice the size of the ones in the good topsoil and 3-4 times the size of their counterparts in the unimproved bed.

Not too sure how I would have coped with 300 - 600 courgettes though.

Think about 6 courgettes & 11 cucs (including massive next year's seed one) so 126 courgettes & 101 cucs (no spotty ones though ) last of the cucs but I've just managed to hit the century - yay

Picked 2 trombones today. Plants looked as if they had been done for by the wind the other night but it seems mostly superficial damage.

Still at least 10 fruits on the trombones plus some on a zucchini plant and a yellow patipan so the season may not be over quite yet. There's one romanesco developing but I think after that it'll be done.

Yesterday & today 3 courgettes & 6 turks turban that were falling off the vine. So;

101 cucs
129 courgettes
6 turks turbans.

Now contemplating squash choices for next year - tempted by crook neck squashes.

The other day I decided to draw the curtains on my courgette harvest

The plants, however, haven't read my blog and so I've got 1 polo, 1 trombone, 3 zucchini and 2 yellow patipan.

I WANT TO PLANT MY ONIONS AND GARLIC (stamps feet in temper tantrum) - but there's courgettes in the way.

Piched a few pumpkins for my sister to carve for Halloween and brought the squashes up out the greenhouse



Theres a smidge under 30 kilograms of squash there. Still got 4 more pumpkins on the vines.

This ones about the same size as last years so must weigh about 13kg


This ones about a third larger so must be about 18kg


The other two are probably around the 6kg mark each


so that could be another 43kg of winter squash to give me a total of 70kg or more in winter squash. For those still working in old money that's over 150 pounds
