Yes Susie, at first they taste the same as the red Toms, then there's an after taste that I don't know how to describe

Ryes, they are Dancing with Smurfs. This is my first year growing this variety.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

Scoot, they are nice flavoured but honestly I dont think they are anything special. I think its more sbout the colour.

Quick question re 'black' toms :

I have some black cherry doing well, and one of them is actually changing from green, but, it looks like it's going a delicate shade of pink...... Will it eventually change to 'black'? Or have I got me seeds in a muddle...???!!!

I grew Black Cherry last year, and the best they got was definitely 'brown'.

......................so better not hold my breath, then ....?!!!!

May not ever turn 'black' ......? Does it all depend on the amount of sunshine they receive...? Or is it a genetic factor...?

Personally, in all the black tomatoes I have grown none of them ever turned black. They were dark, various shades of dark wine to plum colour.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
