Beans Looking Sorry for Themselves

My beans have yellow leaves and are a little spindly.
Any idea what could be causing this?

I'm not an expert on climbing beans. That said, they don't look too bad to me. Have you fed them with anything? Do they get much sun?

I would say they are pretty good for this time of year.

Did your prepare the ground well if not you will have to feed them.

Thank you to all who have replied. I feel encouraged. I have prepared the ground and filled the trench with a good load of manure. The beans are close to a fence and are east facing but get sun most of the day. They always seem to start off slowly and I guess the cold start to the summer and the excessively wet weather of late hasn't helped.

Make sure you give them P and K, not just manure. Muck will be good for the leaves, but for the beans you need P and K too. Don't give them any more N: you'll get all leaf matter and no beans. I know this from experience...

Tomato liquid feed seems to make everything happy as it has higher P & K compare to nitrogen. I use organic and have only fed them once so far. They have just started to form flowers.

I can't answer that as I can't get it here, so I wouldn't like to say. Sounds like Ryez has a good plan, though.
