Hi all. Just had a question about some runner beans that are looking a bit peaky at the moment. I grew some runners and regular green beans from seed indoors, and transplanted them outside a couple of weeks ago. They haven't done too much (maybe doubled in height for some), but I've put that down to the awful weather.
However some of the runner beans have looked a bit peaky, with brown/reddish edging to them (see photo). There should be plenty of nutrition in the soil as I created this raised bed fresh this year and it has a mixture of existing soil (taken from under the turf), rotted manure (from garden centre) and enriched top soil.
Could it be magnesium deficiency? Or well they just storm away once the warm weather arrives (if it ever arrives..).
Many thanks!
