Mild radish varieties please

Small miracle - biggest child now likes radishes, & after years of a "take them or leave them" attitude OH has declared he would also willingly eat more!

So, after years of not growing them I can't remember any varieties & need suggestions for really mild ones. I'm also going to get some rats tails for the pods just for me

I like French Breakfast 3" but like all radish this to can go bitter and woody if left in the ground to long.

HappyH you can let any radish go to seed just to eat the pods here's a not very good photo of some from the other year.

Now there's a thing. I didn't know the pods were worth eating. I'm afraid I don't have any recommendations.

I find most radish types fairly mild a day or so after picking, the lively hot taste I want doesn't seem to last long unfortunately

I find that the bigger they are the milder they seem to be. I grew french breakfast last year and they were really mild compared to the ones from the supermarket!

I also remember reading something saying that growing them in shade keeps them milder?!

Yes I remember something about shade, & lots of water to. Have eaten radish seed pods before - just wondered if the rats tails are any better for this - good pic Bren!

Might try mooli & have seen watermelon radish
....
