  • Why are my swede seedlings leggy

They were sown in a greenhouse so they had enough light, I repotted them deeper and it looks like I've managed to salvage a few of them, so I tried sowing some more and they have come out leggy too, is this particular to Swedes? Is there a secret I don't know about? Help

I have the same problem with most things I sow in the greenhouse if the weather is cloudy but warm, which it has been a lot lately. I had to move them out of the greenhouse, they seem to be doing better now, much stronger.

I had this problem and then with the help of everyone here I came to a decision that brassicas are winter veg so I re-sowed all of mine and kept them outside where they thrived.

Apart from the very early sowing of Spring cabbage, I don't think brassicas like being in the greenhouse at all.

Thanks guys that totally makes sense, I've moved them outside now as the are still very young so hopefully this will resolve the problem and I'll remember for future sowing of brassicas
