Slight potato problem, first harvest of the year

I have been eagerly anticipating today for weeks. Today I would harvest my first bucket of Pentland Javelin potatoes!

Which I did and we got 1.44 kilos from 3 seed potatoes

But they aren't Pentland Javelin, I think I have harvested a bucket of Kestrel a week early Clearly I have labelled all the buckets wrongly and I now have no idea which bucket the PJs are in What a klutz! Anyway, here is what I harvested, I assume they will be okay to eat, I'll find out later!

Quick search confirms they look like Kestrel. Timing to harvest are only averages anyway, not an exact science as so much depends on the time to maturity. They look a decent size anyway. As to which are you Pentland's, is there anyway to narrow your choice down, e.g. grown any red ones you could eliminate after a furtle?

Well done! They look fine. They might've grown a bit bigger if you'd waited, but they should be just as good to eat. I think your best plan is to do a bit of preliminary furtling before harvesting your other buckets.

Get them in a pot of boiling water, sprinkle with salt and butter..yum!!

Great first harvest! The pentland javelin have white flowers if that's any help? My British queen have pink flowers,red duke of York leaves have a reddish tinge,I don't know what varieties you've got there but you could have a look at these photos & compare yours?
