  • What's eating holes in my courgette leaves?

Small holes all over new leaves, not slugs or snails. I've seen little green bugs crawling around the underside of the leaves, but I don't know if they're the culprit. About 2pm long, with big back legs, body shape like a large aphid but I don't think that's it.

    Ant ideas appreciated!

(Going to post this then come back with pics, as I've already lost this once. )

I've seen that on courgettes before, although I haven't seen the bugs you mention. No idea what causes it, but when it happened to mine it didn't seem to do any harm.

The only thing I can find that causes damage that looks remotely like that is cucumber beetle, but as far as I can tell it occurs in the US, not in the UK. The description doesn't fit the bugs you describe though. Cucumber Beetles How to identify and get rid of garden pests | The Old Farmer's Almanac
