Just noticed a couple of my swedes seemed to be growing upwards so went and checked and they appear to be growing a flower. they're big enough to pull up and eat now so it doesn't really concern me but i never really expected it. I'll upload a couple of pictures...

Is this normal for swedes considering they've only been in since about April?Last edited by Scoot; 06-07-2016, 09:51 AM.

I planted mine out last week too
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Mind you Scoot I am worried about my parsnips as they have loads of top growth. I had a fertle in the soil and they do seem to have smallish roots but I am not sure whether full sized parsnips are going to be available later on in the year.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

My swedes are 2 very very tiny seed leaves at the moment. Parsnips have lots of leaf, but that's normal at this time of year. They need the leaves first to make the food that they store over winter in the roots.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy
