My Jerusalem artichokes are in a some what exposed position, I lost one to the wind a few days ago.
I've since supported the remaining ones and put some earth around the base of the stems and they're looking alot more stable now but perhaps taking their tops off would lead to them becoming a bit bushier and studier rather than just growing up?
Do you think having shorter more bushy plants would improve tuber production?
They're yet to start flowering, am i supposed to remove flower heads when I see them? would removing them help the plants conserve energy for more important growth?
