plants look healthy, and they are a good size, they've never been allowed to dry out and it tastes great but it looks like a whole is running through it and its a bit brown, i'm only taking odd stalks from around the out side as i want them to grow more but are they ok?
    thanks

Ive only grown celery twice and both timesit wasn't successful. I don't think that's a "bug" problem, I'd be inclined to say not enough water....they really need lots of it, but I'm not really sure - hopefully someone else will pop in to answer your question.

did you grow them in a sunken area?, I grow mine in a 9/10ins deep ditch and backfill with soil as they grow, with cardboard wrapped around each plant, even in the hot summer of' 76 we got a good crop doing this, as the roots were below the hardened topsoil that was everywhere else..

i've grown them in pots with no holes drilled out of the bottom and they get copious amounts of water everyday, also when i planted them i sprinkled a few chicken pellets below the root area. i'd show you a picture of how great they look but its lashing it down haha
