      I grow Scarlet Emperor from saved seeds I eat them small then later on in the season let the beans get bigger to use in Chilli plus some to save for next years crop.
      Location....East Midlands.

        Not sure about round pods but my favourite bean is Hunter, a flat French bean. It may be in my mind but it doesn't squeak as much as the round ones.

              Flat French climbing bean variety would be Helda, Mrs.BB says so & I'm not gonna argue

                  I'm not going to argue with Mrs BB either but I "think" the flat beans are known as Helda or Romano type - but there is a variety called Helda. I've been growing Hunter and Goldfield this year and have just just sown another yellow flat bean called Pantheon.
