Where and what can still be sown?

Hey up, been away a little while as been busy with work. And just got back from a 2 week holiday. Thankfully the irrigation system held up and came home to an explosion of tomatoes and chillies! Alas is seems not much else has done well or been striped by bugs
But live and learn
The tomato plants in the greenhouse are still heavy with green fruit and flowers, have given them a heavy prune and taken the shade off in the hope some will still ripen.

Anyway....

I was wondering what can still be sown? I'm in the south of England for what its worth, have space outside and in the greenhouse, was hoping there is time to get a few things in the ground still??

Today I've sowed pak choi, turnip greens, winter lettuce, spinach & lambs lettuce to grow in the greenhouse. I've also potted on some kale for gh as well & there's still time for that. Out side winter radish & most of the oriental greens would be okay & probably still time for chard

Welcome back,I've been here all the time & bugs are still eating everything except tomatoes,they're quite safe to abandon,not that I'm saying you abandoned your plants lol how mean! I've just recently sowed rocket it can go in a pot or the ground & winter gem lettuce is good outside through the colder months. You could try swede & turnip my seed packet says sow til August but what's a couple of weeks,let us know how it goes.

Oriental greens as above, winter lettuce, corn salad, winter spinach. You could try carrots in the greenhouse for an early crop next year. Overwintering onions are probably still ok.

I tend not to grow much leafy stuff outside in winter (except chard) as my slugs are voracious - all that lovely rain

Still time for broccoli raab (rappini) as well.

Tomorrow I plan to sow land cress and maybe rocket. Also be preparing the garlic bed soon.

You can think about onion, shallott, & garlic sets. You can prepare some broad beans to over winter but I'd wait a couple more weeks else they will be too big and get wind bashed. It is possible to overwinter some late/early peas if you can offer some fleece protection. A pot of chrimbo spuds? A pot or two of carrots in the greenhouse. Dwarf Curly Kale worked well for me last year at this time. I found a tray of 25 spindly leeks that never got planted out so they went in the ground this weekend, probably nothing will come of it but nothing to loose.
