Back at the plot, bright and early. Got a few piccies of the stonework round the flue pipe. I've added two because one makes it look 'wonky' which it aint! Notice the pie/pastie warmer next to the flue!
I have a metal frame which I managed to wrap with chicken wire to keep the flying rats off! I then placed the frame on the plot and marked out where I could plant some brassicas (In this case calabrese which is noramlly sold as broccoli.)
I planted ten plants that i had grown from seed and hardened off in the dog cage. After planting I sprinkled some BFB round each plant and watered in, finally covering with the chicken mesh frame. Piccie below
I lit the woodburner and had a bit potter on in the summerhouse. Shifted the sweetcorn into the polytunnel to start hardening off. Planted up only six PSB into modules. I love PSB but it grows massive and grows for a full 365 days hence why I only need six plants!
After making a bit of room I sowed a tray of 40 mixed climbing French beans (three varieties)
Put three shrubs on my table ready to pick up and plant in my home garden. A black sambuca, a wegeilia and another I rescued from Homebase for a pittance.

Looks good. You sure it isn't really where you sacrifice slugs to the great allotment gods?
They look far too similar to be a coincidenceLast edited by Jay-ell; 01-05-2017, 07:58 PM.

I don't know whether you remember but I picked up a packet of mixed perennial flowers seed last year for free because i bought another two packets of seed. There were over 50 types of perennials in the packet.
I sowed these, as directed in a large wooden tray and posted a piccie on the vine to try and establish what some of the plants were?
You lot weren't much help, although I admit it is difficult to identify a plant from its early growth.
Anyway, today I split up the box of plants and planted little clumps in a pantiled bed. Hopefully as these develop I'll find out what they are and which ones are worth keeping!
Here's a piccie of them planted out and I'll post one later in the season where the bed will hopefully be floriferous!

Watered everything that required it on the plot (quite a bit). My cukes and courgettes have now germinated along with some of my module sown swedes.
Did some shopping at Tesco's on the way home and picked up a bargain. They had four strawberry plants originally for £4 and then reduced to £2 and finally reduced to 40p.
After handing over £1.20 I received 12 strawberry plants with nothing the matter with them and some even had flowers on!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
