Now don't you go confusing me Snadge, is the game season different to the course season? Course closes 15th March to 16th June.

Plot is looking bigger by the minute!

I think I should have titled this thread 'Extreme Gardening'

Its a good job that arachnids don't bother me as there have been a multitude of huge spiders in these sheds. I tried to save one by coaxing it onto a stick and putting it in the trees. Even though they don't bother me, if that huge spider had ran up the stick i would have launched it!

They are four foot fluorescent tubes! They were still in the wrapper, about 2 dozen I think, but I used the wrapper to light the fire!

Its amazing some of the stuff I've found on this site!

Oops, they are in piccie 2!

Just realised what you mean VC. That is the cast iron flue pipe from the stove with two RSJ's that the shed was built on. I can't lift them and my son has just broken his finger at work so can't help me so I will need to rig up something similar to the Egyptian Pyramid builders to move stuff around!

                  That will test my ingenuity!

Ah, see where you're coming from now! Well, unfortunately there was a shed in front of those. They were put there to stop the local kids climbing the trees at the other side of the fence and dropping onto the shed roof and from there into the plot!

Auld Jimmy next door says he has a full roll of barb wire i can have once I'm ready for to put it along the top of the fence (Stalag luft allotment style)

Come to think of it, he probably nicked it from one of the sheds on my plot in the first place!

Back to the Bomb site today after a three day lay off with man-flu! Came yesterday, sat on the shed base with my head between my hands and said "Sod it, this plots going to kill me" Got up and went home to bed.

Today was another day though and I felt a bit better. Managed to knock the remaining sides and back of the second shed, and the roof fell flat. At first I couldn't lift it but not to be outdone, I lifted a corner, propped a small barrel under it, lifted other corner and did the same. If you've ever watched the worlds strongest man, well the way I lifted it! From 2 foot high I lifted it onto my chest, then got a better grip and straightened my arms to flip it over. (Bath and Ibruproven required after that manoeuvre)

Anyway, all thats left of the second shed is the base. Have'nt figured out yet how to break that up but I'm sure my next visit will give me inspiration.

Only now can I see the full scope of what I've taken on. Next job get the floor up, and try and shift all the usable boards to the end where I have the usable spars stored.

Here's some piccies of the devastation!

Boards will be stored in the above location next to the spars ready for my summerhouse, chicken coop and run build Click image for larger version

This plot makes me think of Scrapheap (Snadgeheap?) Challenge!
Your Challenge is to find an allotment under a heap of junk - and I think you're winning
Looking forward to the next instalment

Once I get the boards moved and the floor lifted and burned I need to concentrate on cut and fill on the plot enabling me to blitz the whole area with spuds. I needed to get the majority of the burning done by end of March which I've done.
As the spuds are chitting, I need to get them in soon, so thats the next deadline. The chicken run and coop can wait as its not required this year anyway and the summer house will be started once the spuds are in.

If I run short of spuds I'll wait until seed tatties are half price or better to finish off!
