    • Took my Black Russian toms to summerhouse to save them from gettinmg leggy.Four of my Vince toms germinated up until now (Thanks VC)
Pricked out 2 dozen Roodnerf sprout plants into modules.Forgot that I'd sown Camomile into seed tray yesterday.
Planted nine Charlotte spuds in previuosly dug holes/pockets. Collected a wheelbarrow load of hoss muck and filled holes to soil level.
I have 40 Charlotte tubers in total, half I'd kept and half I'd bought. I will probably plant 10 tubers each week for the next three weeks. That way there is less chance of the frost getting my whole crop!

Finished up by sorting my seed packets with a pile of brassicas to sow including Kohl Rabi, swede, turnips, cauli and kales.Aso have a pile of legumes and three different types of Beetroot, plus a golden variety.

      • Nice sunny day at the scrapheap. Sorted chooks water and food, collected eggs. I had printed a notice out letting plot holders know there were still twelve plot rents hadn't been paid. By the time i got from one end of the site to the other seven plotholders paid there rents, so i scrapped the notoice! Because I'm an independant bar steward and was sick of waiting for my son to give me a hand with my shed floor that I need to get to the bottom of the plot, I cleared stuff out of the way, planned a route and managed to drag the whole 8 foot X 6 foot, which is in one piece with support spars underneath the length of the plot. Took the two roof sections also.
Reinstated birdbath, carrot cage, and sundial which were on the dragging route for floor.
Gathered another wheel barrow load of free hoss muck and planted another row of Charlotte tatties, backfilling wint muck.
Sowed four lots of brassicas into modules, Giant Kohl Rabi, curly kale, Tosc de niro kale and savoy cabbage. Moved the chruysanths out of summer house to make way for sown brassicas.
Wrestled the green polythene cover onto the polytunnel frame work, where upon I realised i had it inside out, with seams on the outside. I've just left it for now and will hose down all the carp offf it as it was buried in a heap of rubbish including shattered glass.Once clean I will wait for a windless day and and turn it inside out.
I'll probably use this for toms this year as my greenhouse still needs fixing permanently to foundations along with glass added.
On the wooded side of my plot I intend using perspex anyway to save it, if any toerags in the dene start lobbing rocks at it.

Partially complete, like about everything else on the plot!

                • Quite a productive evening on plot. Took loads of piccies with my new Samsung works phone but can't upload them as I think they need re-sizing? Any easy to use free software I can use?

Hoed and raked an area ready for beetroot sowing. Sowed six rows on a radial pattern from the centre of the plot. Two rows each of two red varieties and two rows of golden beet.
Another wheelbarrow load of muck, and a nother planting of Charlotte potatoes.

Watered all potted stuff and area just sown. My inside out polytunnel had been caught by the wind so re-posisiioned it temporarily and zipped the door down half way. stuck a few rocks around the perimeter to stop it taking off until I turn it the right way.

Fastened a couple of ornamental tinplate chooks to nesting box with staples.

Only I, could go into poundland for some seeds and come out with a cast iron lizzard to affix to wall!

                  • Quiet night at the 'heap' tonight! Noticed next door neighbour has piled his pile of scrap on top of mine outside my plot!
There is too uch scrap lying about on site now so I'm going to put a notice on the gate asking everyone to pile any metal scrap near the gate and possibly a scrap man will come and 'chaw' it, or we'll have to pay someone to take it away.
Only one chook egg this evening so something must have spooked them, possibly a fox snooping about?
Planted 40 sweetcorn in modules in a tray, 20 of Swift and 20 of another type who's name i can't remember! I didn't buy either pack of seeds, instead our previous Treasurer gave me her seed box, so I used those. They've got two chances, slim and none!

                    • Finished offf the planting of my early Charlotte spuds, 20 were purchased as seed potatoes and 20 were ones I had save myself. It will be interesting to see if there's any differnce in yield?

Watered my new sowings and my potted plants that are hardening off.

Still unsure of where to place my pan tiles that I had surrounding beds on my other plot. The shape of my beds doesn't really lend itself to pan tile surrounds so I may only surround any rectangular beds I create.

I think i am just about on top of the veg sowing so may have to make a start on my stone fireplace surround for my woodburning flue. I reckon if I make small batches of cement each evening and allow one level to set before adding the next, that should work.

Still had no joy in adding Photos from my new phone.

                            • Planted my Strawberries out. Need about half a dozen to finish the area I have them in so will have to get to one of the cheapie shops to get some.

My module planted Kohl rabi has germinated in the summerhouse.

Dismembered my lashed up stone fireplace. Screwed cup hooks into the ceiling and tied wire to cup hooks angled down to where i want my stone fireplace surround to be and tied off at the bottom. I now have a template for my tapered flue surround to be build up in stages.
Moved an old set of step ladders and a short ladder into the chicken run to make an adventure playground for the chooks.

                              Watered all seed rows outdoors.

I am at work all weekend so won't get much done on the plot or my project house this weekend, sadly!
