Great Idea if you can get hold of the rings off freecycle or perhaps cut down compost bins like the Big Guy has although it sounds like he isn't stacking them.
No, I hadn't thought of stacking them but that's not to say I can't look into it...............

Doh! - It's typical, I have just given a short Dalek away because I replaced it with a large one, look's like I shall have to keep a look out on Freecycle for compost bins again.

My target of February may be a little adventurous, I reckon it will be nearer March/April. However, the front tower is now showing through the top so will let the foliage come through now, the 2 side towers are a little behind so will see how they fair:

It's a shame the previous photos have been lost for comparison. However, I don't know if I am going to be on target for a March crop but we'll see. Watch this space as they say.

This is awesome.
How many spuds will a plant this tall produce?!
I am not convinced it will work, after a bit of research I don't think spuds grow up the stalk so if I get half a dozen in the bottom bucket, I will be more than happy.

Keep your fingers crossed BM, as you know I grow main crop in dustbins and often find spuds within 2 inches of the surface of the compost. I don't see where else they can come from but the stalk as the seed is all within 4 to 5 inches of the bottom of the bin.
