we started using the highland burgundy potatoes today, a red skin, when you peel them they look white, but when you cut them, the centres are a deep red colour, they went into what OH was making ,so now we have loads of pink cockaleekie soup and have a lovely flavour. on sunday ,when we have the roast, we will be using charlotte, highland burgundy and blue salad tatties, so we will have red, white and blue, with the rainbow carrots of white, yellow, purple and red, it will make an unusual sight, but oh so tasty...

Do potatoe varieties that specifically mention a location e.g Highland grow OK further south or are they bred for the colder areas of the country?I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

I had to move to Hungary, so I could grow Sarpo Mira spuds........because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

i finally got round to taking photos of the highland burgundy and blue salad before OH has them cooked and dished up. you can see by the colour that they make real odd chips/roasties and mash.. and you would not believe how good they taste, a really lovely flavour..Attached FilesLast edited by BUFFS; 23-10-2016, 12:15 PM.
