      Rary - I am baffled how / why you've managed to add a word in to my quote - are you purposely trying to confuse me?!

      'True' banana shallots can't be grown from seed, but as Thelma suggested, the Long Red de Florence can be and are definitely tasty

          I dont know how the wording changed vixy, if it was me that added it I dont know how I managed it, I would never try and confuse any woman...... they do fine themselves

            The Florence onions are good. I used to get red Tropea onions in Italy, by far the sweetest I've ever tried. I found seeds on ebay, planted them this spring and they grew and stopped (at the size of a baked bean) and have now sprouted green tops again - I'm leaving them in to see what happens.. don't know if sunny Tropea will make them sweeter than Wales but hey - here's the link
