Amaranth species are cultivated and consumed as a leaf vegetable in many parts of the world. Four species of Amaranthus are documented as cultivated vegetables in eastern Asia:

and is a popular green leafy vegetable (referred to in the class of vegetable preparations called saag). In Andhra Pradesh, this leaf is added in preparation of a popular dal called thotakura pappu in (Telugu). it is used to prepare fry, in which the leaf is fried with chili and onions.

my favourite has to be blue salad tatties, unsurpassed taste,
red haven peaches from the back greenhouse, although the apricots (moorpark) run it quite close,
own crosses of tomatoes that started some 5/6yrs ago and will give ongoing pleasure as I see the results of last seasons crosses, trying to get a indigo rose/olympe cross to produce a monster black beefsteak tom, still work in progress,
joan j and polka raspberries as the polka fruit slightly later than the joan j and with the cooler temps they slowly get their magic taste,
and finally the egremont russet apples, for me the best apple taste...
