    If I remember correctly Elephant garlic is more closely related to leeks, hence it's milder flavour.

    I tend to eat the Elephant garlic roasted, rather than use it in a dish like you would use normal garlic.

      I like it cut in half and in the cavity of a chicken - it gives a mild flavour to the meat without being overpowering

        Elephant Garlic is Allium ampeloprasum var. ampeloprasum and is closely related to Babingtons Leek (Allium ampeloprasum var. Babingtonii ).

        You can harvest it as a leek by cutting it off above the bulb - it should grow back but I haven't tried it yet (building up my stock of cloves) and don't know how it will effect the bulb size.
