  • It's definetly not a parsnip!

Was tiding up the garden and my so called container that I was go to drain and clear it up for the winter. Anyway removing the leaves and where I sowed parsnips 2 months ago (out of season I know) was this pictured below. No sign of parsnips which didn't suprise me but what I think is a courgette plant. I had a courgette plant which I got rid of as was knackered battered white leaves etc and dug up and sowed something else.

Don't know if it will flourish but will let winter take its course and if it doesn't do anything I won't be surprised!!.

Just thought I share this info with u.

It does look like a courgette Jacks, think i'd be tempted pot it on and keep it on a indoor window sill just to see how it does.

the slightest cold will end it's days,as said pot it on,try it in home,i bet it goes leggy due to light levels, the good news is,IF you get flowers you can polinate it,come you know you want a challenge now.

Could it be a sunflower from birdseed? I've got those popping up now.

Going to leave it outside for a little bit longer, as the last couple of days its been quite nice along the south coast apart from the rain and winds!!!! Also gives me more time to persuade the husband to allow another pot in the house. I know what is answer will be another pot will have to go before one comes in. Its the same with handbags!!!!

It also puts me in a dilemma as I have 4 types of chilles just started 2 weeks ago under my grow light garden, I could remove one and put this mysterious seedling in its place but from this years courgette plant it took over the container and my chillies will loose the heat and light that it needs.
                        OR
get rid of one of the pots that I have on the kitchen window sill of indoor rose plant that was given by mother in law which I'm trying to save!!!

Personally I kick the other half out for limiting your number of pots in the house
But if you have to choose its got to be the rose that gets evicted. You just can't abandon a poor little chilli !
