Who's laughing now, SP I knew you'd be up for it..............maybe!
Burnie, its not a question of overcoming the weather/daylght, even I'm not that daft. More about thinking about what you "could" be picking in March and plan to sow at the appropriate time for it.
I have this other crazy idea about being able to pick a month's veg from one bed and clearing it at the end of the month, ready to plant another lot of seedlings. This has made me think more about how long veg take to mature, rather than focusing on what can I sow each month and sowing it all, just because the packet says I can!
Probably still not making myself clear but I know what I mean - and that's not always the case

The idea is good, but I think one would have to do it by different varieties as much as by timing the sowing. For example, I successionally sowed my sweetcorn this year, delaying some by as much as six weeks from the first in an attempt to get a longer season. All that happened was that the last sowing caught up with the first and I had all my sweetcorn come together. However, I sowed two different varieties of peas at the same time and they cropped three weeks apart
So its a matter of working out what to sow based upon what varieties will grow at that time. (I think)

Backwards planning would be necessary to ensure that the seedlings were at the right stage when a bed became vacant,
A 4 bed rotation could only work with veg that mature in 4-5 months. Veg needing more time like sprouts, psb, leeks would need a more permanent bed.

I still haven't mastered when I should be sowing spring/summer/winter cabbages, so I don't stand a chance trying to work other veg backwardsLocation - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

I sow some when I remember, and then sow some more a couple of weeks later (usually because I ran out of compost when I sowed the first lot!)
I don't usually get a glut of anything (except courgettes!) and if the 1st sowing fails for some reason, the 2nd usually works and the harvest is spread out a bit.
Not a real plan but it kinda works, for me
