Espellette peppers and red basque chilli , are they the same ?

the espellette seems like a ceyenne size whilst the basque seems like a bigger pod, the more i look the more unsure i am, any ideas ?
As I understand it, the Espelette is an AOC so its name is protected by origin like a lot of other food produce such as cheeses. In this case it should be from a small area in the Basque Pyrenees. So in principle, seeds not from this area should not be sold under the Espelette name. Seeds are therefore sold under a variety of vaguely Basque sounding names. I have a 3 year old Gorria chilli plant (Gorria is another Basque word) and it is very similar to the Espelette. And very tasty! Especially dried-I can recommend it lightly reconstituted and fried with garlic and cod...

        • Inspired by the simple DIY of Nicos, I've just put some cayenne, california wonder and friggitello pepper seeds in moist kitchen roll, in Gu ramekins, inside a curry take-away container on top of the radiator...

                            • And it's probably too early to tell, but my two small 'overwintered' habanero orange plants (which resemble two half-dead twigs in their pots) look to have teeny-weeny bits of green shoots appearing ...
